Current regulations demand that the service providers of the public administration send electronic invoices to invoice the products or services sold.
Different formats depending on the recipient
Electronics invoice must be created in a structured electronic format, which may differ depending on the recipient. It is a programming language that is difficult for the user to create or interpret.
For example, in Europe, Australia and New Zealand the invoice must be created and sent in UBL format with the specifications according to each country.
The public administrations will not accept invoices that are not generated in the format required by the regulations in their country.

In some cases, electronic invoices need to be signed with a digital certificate. For example, when an electronic invoice is sent to the Spanish public administration, it has to be signed.

There are different national and international networks where electronic invoices need to be sent. These depend on where the recipient is located and on the regulations of each country.
For example, to send an electronic invoice to the Spanish public administration it must be sent through different Spanish General Access Points. In France, through Chorus Pro. In Italy, through SDI, etc.
Electronic invoices sent by email or other networks not established by the receiving administration will not be accepted.
