How B2Brouter helped Vinia integrate e-invoicing into its SaaS
Last updated: October 9, 2026
When developing a SaaS solution, every new regulatory requirement raises the same question: should you build everything in-house or rely on the right partner to move faster?
For Vinia, a French management and invoicing platform designed for independent winegrowers, this question became particularly important with the French e-invoicing reform, which requires all companies to be able to receive electronic invoices from 1 September 2026.
The goal was clear: enable users to continue working from Vinia without having to switch between platforms. E-invoicing had to become an integrated product feature, not another tool to manage.
Integrating e-invoicing without building everything in-house
Vinia was designed to meet the everyday needs of independent winegrowers. Since invoicing was already part of their experience on the platform, redirecting users to another solution to manage their electronic invoices would not have been consistent.
Augustin d’Assignies, founder of Vinia, worked in particular on the integration required to prepare the platform for this next step.
Vinia therefore looked for a partner capable of providing the necessary infrastructure while allowing Vinia to retain control over its product and user experience.
As Augustin explains:
“We needed an accredited platform to comply with France’s e-invoicing requirements.”
With B2Brouter, Vinia found a white-label model, access to the B2Brouter API to automate processes such as customer onboarding, and a sandbox environment to develop and test the integration before moving into production.
Thanks to the B2Brouter Startup Programme, Vinia was able to move forward with the integration while continuing to dedicate its resources to product development.
A collaboration that goes beyond the API
During development, Vinia encountered a situation that highlighted the importance of having a partner capable of providing support beyond the technical integration itself.
During production testing, one company already had its SIREN registered with another e-invoicing provider, in this case its bank.
What might have appeared to be a simple technical edge case actually had a much broader impact: if Vinia could not handle this type of situation, some potential customers might not have been able to use the functionality.
Vinia and the B2Brouter teams therefore worked together to understand the issue and find a solution.
As Augustin explains:
“The B2Brouter team helped us solve a tricky edge case that could have prevented an entire segment of our market from using e-invoicing. That level of support is rare at our stage.”
For Vinia, this support became one of the key elements of the project: being able to rely on a team that can respond when real-life situations go beyond the standard scenario covered by an API.
A simple experience for Vinia users
From the winegrowers’ point of view, the goal is precisely to avoid having to deal with all this complexity.
They continue to create and manage their invoices directly from Vinia, while B2Brouter provides the e-invoicing infrastructure in the background.
This allows Vinia to integrate the new functionality directly into the experience its users already know, without imposing a new process or an additional platform.
“Producers benefit from e-invoicing compliance directly within the software they already use, without having to understand or interact with the underlying platform.”
For Vinia, this approach also means not having to dedicate development resources to building and maintaining every component of the e-invoicing infrastructure.
More time to focus on its own product
Vinia is still at a relatively early stage of the project, so it is too early to measure the impact of the integration in terms of invoice volumes or new customer acquisition.
However, Augustin already identifies one tangible benefit: the development time saved.
“Instead of building and maintaining our own direct connection to the French e-invoicing infrastructure, we integrated a single API and are ready for compliance.”
For a growing SaaS company, that time is valuable.
Rather than developing and maintaining the entire regulatory infrastructure in-house, Vinia can continue to focus on its product, its user experience and the features that genuinely meet the needs of winegrowers.
Ultimately, that is the real value of the collaboration: enabling Vinia to offer e-invoicing to its customers without making e-invoicing its core business.
