Since January 2021, Greece has implemented mandatory electronic invoicing for companies doing business with public entities, while requiring real-time reporting to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) via the myDATA platform. Full compliance for B2G transactions became effective in 2022, and B2B/B2C operations must also be reported digitally, even if not invoiced electronically.
The Greek e-invoicing framework is built around structured data formats and certified service providers (providers of electronic invoicing or PEPP). B2Brouter, as a Peppol-authorized Access Point, facilitates secure and compliant invoice exchanges with public and private entities, ensuring adherence to both domestic and European standards.
Understanding the timeline, legal requirements, and accepted technical protocols is essential for any company—local or foreign—doing business in Greece. The following sections will guide you through key implementation dates, regulatory highlights, and how to benefit from e-invoicing compliance.
